Stephen Clarke (Steve)

I am an accredited CAT psychotherapist and supervisor.

Practitioner training (1999-2001); Supervisor training (2003-2009); Psychotherapist training (2010-2012). My professional background is in nursing having trained in the 1980’s, registered general nurse (RGN) and registered mental nurse (RMN).

I have over 25 years of experience in providing psychotherapy to individuals with diverse mental health issues within the NHS, in primary, secondary and tertiary care, and over five years’ experience offering consultation in private practice.

I have additional experience and training in various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) having trained on the inaugural Newcastle Cognitive Therapy course (1990-91). Also, one year foundation trainings in psychodynamic psychotherapy: ‘Psychodynamics in Practice’ in Newcastle and ‘An Introduction to Group Analytic Therapy’ in Sunderland. I draw upon these other modalities, if necessary, to offer within a CAT framework. 

I work on Thursday afternoons and evenings for face-to-face appointments. 

I can offer a free 30-minute consultation to discuss your therapy or supervision aims and needs.
