Teesside and North Yorkshire [Abigail Tarran-Jones]

Hi, I am Dr Abi Tarran-Jones, also known as The Outdoor Psychologist; a Clinical Psychologist and a CAT Practitioner. I have over 15 years experience working in the NHS and I am highly trained and skilled in integrating a variety of psychological models and approaches. I can deliver a bespoke, creative and holistic therapy to suit your individual needs.

I offer outdoor therapy in a natural setting (at Cod Beck Reservoir, Osmotherley, North York Moors), as well as traditional sessions in a secluded woodland clinic (in Yarm, Teesside). I deliver outdoor therapy as nature is healing for our mental and physical health and wellbeing. Through nature we can learn more about ourselves, who we want to be and how we want to live our lives. And the natural environment can offer us tools, to enhance the therapeutic experience and our outcomes. Whether you prefer the comfort of the indoors or the freedom of the outdoors, therapy with me should be both freeing and transformative.

Life brings with it inevitable twists, bumps and road blocks. People's early experiences and relationships, life events and the ways of coping they developed to survive, can leave them feeling overwhelmed or stuck. I am passionate about providing you with a safe space to explore and work through the difficulties you are facing, whilst supporting you to find and navigate a new healthier path.

My therapy is based on developing a compassionate and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, as I believe this is the most active ingredient for effective therapy. So get in touch today to arrange a free 30 minute consultation (telephone or online), so you can get a feel for me and decide if we will be a good team to assist your on your road to wellbeing and recovery.
