Rawtenstall [Rachel Todd]

   I am a qualified Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) therapist with 10 years experience. I am accredited by the Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT).  I have 10 years experience working for the NHS offering therapeutic interventions to clients age 16-65, experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties.  In addition to this I have been working privately for the last 6 years.  

I am also a qualified Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Practitioner.  I do not offer formal DBT, however, I sometimes draw upon DBT skills within the CAT sessions to help clients think about helpful coping strategies they can use.   

I specialise in helping clients who are experiencing difficulties in their relationships and are suffering from anxiety and/or depression and have poor self esteem and confidence.

My approach is very much compassion focused and I believe that building a safe and secure therapeutic relationship with clients is essential in order for change to occur.  I'm passionate about empowering clients and fostering a sense of hope that they can overcome their distress and believe that things can change for the better.
