ACAT will be moving to a new web site on Thursday, 10th April.
In preparation, from Friday, 4th April this old web site will not let members renew their membership, and any other changes members make, e.g. their personal details, will get ‘lost in the move’.
Urgent membership renewals should instead be done by contacting Alison Marfell.
With over 20 years of experience as a specialist Clinical Psychologist, I am dedicated to helping you achieve emotional well-being and personal growth through compassionate, individualized therapy in a supportive, confidential environment.
Since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 2003, I have accumulated extensive experience working within the NHS in senior roles, where I have developed services across the lifespan in both mental and physical health domains. My expertise is bolstered by a wealth of experience and extensive training in evidence-based psychological therapies.
In addition to my doctoral-level training in psychological services and therapies, I am an accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapist (CAT) and a CAT supervisor. I am also a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) practitioner and hold a Level 3 qualification in IFS (Internal Family Systems)-informed EMDR through the Syzygy Institute.
As an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, I have actively contributed to the field by serving on the executive committee for the Division of Clinical Psychologists, which represents Clinical Psychologists at a national level as part of the British Psychological Society. Previously, I was a director of the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT) and, upon stepping down, continued my involvement as a member of ACAT’s Ethics Board.
My commitment to advancing psychological practice is also reflected in my academic contributions. I have served as a visiting lecturer at the University of East Anglia (UEA), Hertfordshire University, and Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), where I taught on their Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Master’s in Child Psychology courses.
This broad range of professional and academic experiences underpins my approach to therapy, ensuring that I offer well-rounded, expert care tailored to your individual needs.
My capacity to take on new clients is subject to availability, and I encourage you to reach out directly to inquire about open slots. I do not maintain a waitlist, but instead offer appointments as they become available.
I endeavour to reply to contacts within 72 hours. This may vary due to weekends, bank holidays or annual leave.
Appointments are available either in person, online, or a combination of both, tailored to suit your preferences and needs.
Therapy sessions are fifty minutes in duration unless otherwise stated. Session fees also apply to assessment appointments.
Some insurance companies will reimburse for therapy sessions it is advisable to check your policy to see if this is offered in your terms and conditions.
