Web-site restrictions

ACAT will be moving to a new web site on Thursday, 10th April.

In preparation, from Friday, 4th April this old web site will not let members renew their membership, and any other changes members make, e.g. their personal details, will get ‘lost in the move’.

Urgent membership renewals should instead be done by contacting Alison Marfell.

Online [James Randall]

Although I am trained to support people with most psychological and relational difficulties, I have particular skills in supporting people with:

  • Relationship difficulties and challenges to our sense of self, security and safety
  • Relational burnout and overcoming complex trauma for neurodivergent individuals
  • Experiences of psychological, physical and sexual abuse
  • Difficulties surfacing from childhood developmental and intergenerational trauma
  • Adapting therapies for neurodivergent people experiencing significant psychological distress
  • Ruptures in family relationships and troubling interpersonal dynamics
  • Being vegan in a non-vegan world (e.g. what some may call 'vystopia' or a 'carnistic cultures')

*Presently I am only able to offer online therapy*

I trained as a clinical psychologist at the University of Hertfordshire; a unique, diverse and humble home – which taught me as much about being a human, as it did about the complexities of relationships, psychological distress, and the ethics required to support individuals and communities to navigate an often unjust and unfairly discriminatory society. I have over 15 years of working in the public sector supporting people experiencing significant psychological distress, mental health problems, and facing harmful adversities and trauma.

I practice from a trauma-informed approach and offer:

  • Cognitive Analytic Therapy
  • Systemic and relational therapies
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

I am trained to safely integrate aspects of Dialetical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, and Narrative therapy, alongside other techniques and therapies.

I can be contacted on VeganClinPsy@gmail.com

I do not have set availability, so this can be negotiated when contacted.

For training therapy, I am able to offer the reduced fee of £75 per session. Whether this is 16 or 24 sessions (+ follow-up) will be up to the trainee, and can be contracted post-Reformulation if preferred. Fee is inclusive of all letters.
