Web-site restrictions

ACAT will be moving to a new web site on Thursday, 10th April.

In preparation, from Friday, 4th April this old web site will not let members renew their membership, and any other changes members make, e.g. their personal details, will get ‘lost in the move’.

Urgent membership renewals should instead be done by contacting Alison Marfell.

Fareham [Eleanor Diane Glackin]

I am an accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapist. I am a HCPC registered Social Worker.  I have worked in Children's Services over a 30 year period and started my private practice 6 years ago. I worked in a busy NHS community mental health service for 4 years, recently leaving, to expand my private practice.  CAT is a collaborative therapy and involves considering current difficulties in the context of early development and life history.  I work collaboratively and creatively to try to gain a more helpful understanding of presenting problems, in order to find a more comfortable, helpful and hopeful middle ground in life. I have experience of working therapeutically with children, young people and adults in crisis.  I have experience of working with high-risk cases and I am trained in risk assessment and risk management planning. I am trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I have experience in supervising Psychiatry trainees in CAT as part of their Psychotherapy training.

I have a Private Practice in Fareham Hampshire, I work clinically Monday to Friday (10.00-18.00 hrs)

I have experience in working with people of all ages, my main experience is working with teenagers and adults, although I have worked with children 8 years and up.

I have experience of working with the following presentations;

People who have suffered, personal injury, resulting in life changing experiences, those suffering emotional crisis, relationship difficulties, stress, anxiety, phobia's, panic attacks, depression, Bipolar disorder, abuse, self-harm, suicidal ideation, feeding and eating disorders, trauma and loss.  I also work with people who experience intrusive thoughts, visual and auditory experiences and who are not suffering from Psychosis.

I offer face to face sessions in my Fareham clinic, I also undertake 'virtual'  sessions using TEAMS (these started during the first Covid-19 lockdown, and they have continued).  This enables me to carry out sessions with people across the UK and with people for whom mobility is restricted.

Please self-refer, using the e-mail address or telephone number provided to book a free 30 minute telephone consultation, to discuss presenting problems and suitability for Cognitive Analytic Therapy.
