I’ll bare the pain and keep it safe

So you can go on feeling

I’ll embrace this weeping wound for you

I’ll make it mine

And hold it tight

I’ll stem the flow of blood and tears

So you can bear the fight

I’ll love this closing wound for you

Admire its courage

Nurse its soul

Then offer it back when you are strong

A gift to make you whole
