The aim of the annual meeting is to provide an opportunity for a connective and fruitful dialogue to create a forum for monitoring and developing the key role of Supervisors and Trainers in developing CAT practice in all its variety. Open to all ACAT Trainers and Supervisors, it is hoped that new and trainee supervisors will feel able to attend. The event hopes to provide an excellent opportunity to share useful ideas and practices and to engage in constructive debate.

5th and 6th June 2014, 18th July 2014, 8th September 2014, 5th November 2014 Liverpool - CAT Skills Training 2014

This course is a repeat of a successful six month long, multi-professional skills training certificate in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) accredited by the Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT). It consists of five Theory & Skills training days combined with 35 hours of supervised clinical work, one personal development therapy session (½ day) and two reflective pieces of writing (2,500 words) on the use of CAT ideas and methods.

19th September 2014 to 20th September 2014 Manchester - ACAT Introduction to Cognitive Analytic Therapy

Cost: £230 (£220 online booking)

This hands-on, two day course offers an introduction to the ideas, methods and skills of Cognitive Analytic Therapy. It combines short theoretical inputs with role play and video demonstrations by the trainers of CAT practice and work in pairs and small groups to try out CAT skills. The versatility of the approach will be explored and a range of clinical examples highlighted. Participants will gain skills in mapping, tracking and negotiating problem patterns with clients and for supervision. Participants will need some familiarity with the use of psychological ideas and methods in responding to mental health problems and emotional distress.
