Buckley, M., 2003. CAT CPD Update - May 2003. Reformulation, Spring, p.10.
Once again a great number of you have sent back CPD feedback sheets with your membership renewal, this time giving information about ACAT workshops or seminars you would either recommend or be willing to be involved in. This has been passed to Annie Nehmad and John Bristow, now responsible for the organisation of these, and is of enormous help to them. There is so much interest and talent among the membership and it looks as though it will be possible to arrange a stimulating programme for the coming year. So, thank you - and keep the suggestions coming.
Gill Aitken suggested that members should be made aware of the government's consultation paper 'Into the Mainstream': Strategic Development of Mental Health Care for Women', and give some thought to the implications of this for ACAT's service to women patients. Her useful description of the paper is given in this issue.
David Olive wrote that a CAT special interest group has been set up in Colchester, drawing from Essex and Suffolk. It holds seminars every six weeks. For further details e-mail David.Olive@nemht.nhs.uk or ring him at work on 01206 287232.
There has been another call for a local discussion group in South East London from Gill Williams, who works in GP practice and private practice. Please contact her via the ACAToffice, or myself, if you are interested. A member in the London area has asked if there might be interest among the membership in peer supervision. Again, if you are interested, contact me.
Keep your eye on this column, in the next edition of Reformulation, for details of the books you have recommended in your feedback sheets.
