Senior CAT Therapist and CAT Supervisor –Band 8A, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust [SLAM] Lambeth Secondary Care Psychological Therapies

Job Overview

Applications are welcomed from an experienced, enthusiastic, and resilient accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapist [at practitioner level], CAT supervisor and ACAT member who is committed to working with people who have complex mental health problems with a highly diverse population living within the borough of Lambeth, London.

The successful applicant would join Tier 2 of Lambeth Secondary Care Psychological Therapies and hold responsibility for conducting assessments and supervising CAT Trainees from the South London CAT Practitioner Training. They would hold a key role in the CAT service within SLAM.

This is a 0.8 post [30 hours] based at 151 Blackfriars Road, SE1 8EL which is 5 minutes’ walk from Southwark Station and Waterloo Station. The post includes London Inner Weighting Allowance.

Job Purpose

CAT within SLAM is well established and closely linked to the South London CAT Practitioner Training and NHSE South Practitioner Training.

The main tasks of the job would involve:

Providing CAT clinical supervision and managing the work of CAT trainees in 2- 4 supervision groups

Undertaking specialist assessments of referrals to CAT and other relational interventions within the pathway

Offering clinical work in relation to the service needs.

The ability to assess and manage risk.

The capacity to contribute to service development.
