Supervision and Self-Supervision Workshop: The embodiment of reciprocal roles as a reflective tool
Caroline Greenwood Dower
Drawing on years of experience of practice and training in the integration of movement-based approaches into CAT, this one day CPD session will focus on the value of this perspective to deepen supervision and self-supervision. I will share a frame for enquiry to develop both the awareness and implications of the non-verbal relational dance always present in the work. Our curiosity and attention to this domain will inform interventions in future sessions and illuminate our own support needs in the therapeutic process.
The day will be appropriate for practitioners across all settings. No familiarity with embodied methodologies will be assumed and there will be no expectation that the approach is actively woven into your therapeutic practice going forward. Our intention in this day is to scaffold your own awareness as a support for reflection. As such it will be of value to current and future supervisors, to add to the repertoire of your supervisory approach, and for all practitioners as a frame to use in your self-reflection and to take into your supervisory dialogue. If you are undertaking supervisor training attendance can count towards Module 4 of the Supervisor Training Programme.
A follow-up zoom session will be offered 4-6 weeks later, as an opportunity to bring back any reflections or questions as you apply the frame to your casework.
